MAP urges the Department of Education to keep schools open and not rob the future generation of an education

The Maltese Association of Psychiatry issued a press release urging the Department of Education to keep schools open. Returning to school is vital not only for the childrens’and young people’s education but also for their general well-being and the MAP points out that time out from the education setting would be detrimental for the childrens’ cognitive and academic development particularly for those in a disadvantaged position.

Evidence shows that the benefits of being back in an education setting far outweigh the risks from coronavirus (COVID-19).
