The Maltese Association of Psychiatry presented its Annual Conference 2024 entitled ‘United Minds: Enhancing Collaborative Care in Psychiatry’ taking place on the 2 & 3 October 2024 at the University of Malta, Valletta Campus.
The Conference was aimed at fostering synergy, learning and cooperation among various stakeholders in the mental health sector and bring together professionals from diverse fields such as psychology, medicine, psychiatry, social work, education, public health and policy-making to explore research and innovative approaches to integrated care. Attendees engaged in discussions, workshops, and presentations focused on the intersection of mental health with other areas such as substance abuse treatment, community services, forensic services, medicine, homelessness and more.
The Conference emphasised the importance of breaking down silos and fostering collaboration between different disciplines to provide comprehensive and effective support for individuals experiencing mental health challenges.
