Dr. Nigel Camilleri, President of the Maltese Association of Psychiatry (MAP) issued a statement of concern on behalf of the MAP following reports of widespread criminality and corruption in Malta’s Institutions.
Corruption can lead to a state of fragility within a nation leading in turn to increased levels of stress, worry, irritability, with people feeling on edge and disillusioned. This may also lead to states of anxiety and depression in those at risk.
Prevention of Moral Injury Requires Leadership and Cohesion and the MAP urges for those in power to take action now in order to prevent Moral Injury. Continue to the MAP Statement here.
